Wedding rings-Frequently asked questions

01. What are carats of gold?
The carat is a unit of measurement for the purity of gold and indicates the gold content of a piece of jewelry. In international terminology, carat gold is usually written as karat, to distinguish it from carat which is the international unit of weight of precious and semi-precious stones. Pure gold is 24 carats. Carat gold directly characterizes jewelry, dividing it into categories. More specifically in the market there are mainly gold jewelry of nine, fourteen, eighteen and twenty two carats.

Analytically:

8 carats: Of the 24 pieces that make it up, the 8 parts by weight are made of genuine gold and the remaining 16 are made of pre-crates (words). In percentage terms, an 8-carat jewel contains 33.3% gold and is written inside the jewel with the stamp 333.

9 carats: Of the 24 pieces that make it up, the 9 parts by weight are made of genuine gold and the remaining 15 are made of prokramas. In percentage terms, a 9 carat jewelry contains 37.5% gold and is written inside the jewelry with the seal 375.

14 carats: Of the 24 pieces that make it up, the 14 parts by weight are made of 24 carat gold while the remaining 10 are made of pre-crates. In percentage terms, a 14 carat jewelry contains 58.33% gold and is written inside the jewelry with the stamp 585.

18 carats: Of the 24 pieces that make it up, the 18 parts of weight (not volume) are made of 24 carat gold while the remaining 6 are made of pre-crates. In percentage terms, an 18 carat piece of jewelry, 75% of its total, consists of pure gold and is written inside the jewelry with the seal 750.

02. How many carats are wedding rings usually and why?
Wedding rings can be made in all carats of gold but are mostly made in 14 carats, as this alloy makes them valuable and durable. In general, the more gold a ring contains, the softer its alloy and therefore more vulnerable. The wedding ring is one of the jewels that we never part with and as a result it receives the most blows due to its daily use.9ct wedding rings are harder and more durable but contain less gold while 18ct wedding rings are much softer and wear out much faster. The final decision about the carats will be made by you with the help of the store that serves you.

03.How are the colors of gold created?
Pure gold is mixed with various presets, words, to create both the carats and the color we want. So, when we mix gold with white procram, we create white gold and when we mix it with pink procram, we create pink gold.

04. Is there a difference between platinum and platinum?
Platinum is not the same as platinum. Platinum is not a metal but it is a white gold alloy that comes from the mixing of gold with alloys. Platinum is a rare and very expensive precious metal that has a white color and is much harder. Platinum is very expensive as a raw material and difficult to process and that is why platinum jewelry usually has a minimal and timeless line.

05. Why do white rings turn yellow?
Platinum rings need an extra treatment to make their color whiter and brighter. This process is called epidural. Over time and with the use of the ring this treatment goes away and the natural color of platinum begins to appear, which has a yellow tinge. In the wedding ring, which is a ring that we wear all the time and comes in contact with anything we catch, this wear can be done faster than in any other platinum ring. Of course, we can restore our ring or wedding ring to its original state, doing the extra processing from the beginning.

06. What is the difference between a diamond and a zircon?
Diamond is the hardest material in nature, and at the same time the most expensive and the most popular. In their natural state they are translucent, transparent or even opaque and their colors vary. Colorless, gray, blue, red, yellow, green or black. The value of a diamond is shaped by its 4 characteristics, the 4 C, which are the parameters that describe a diamond quite accurately. The 4 C are: Carat – Weight, Clarity – Purity, Color – Color and Cut – cut.

Synthetic zircon is a synthetic stone that is used as a substitute for diamond and is very economical.

07. Can I increase or decrease my wedding ring?
Yes, they can grow or shrink, but in general the more complex a plan, the more difficult the process, the more time consuming, and perhaps some obvious sign of the end result, especially in growth. The cost and time are therefore determined by the numbers, but also by the design of each wedding ring.

08. Does my wedding ring design spoil? And what can I do?
Yes, over time your wedding ring design will deteriorate, as we have mentioned, the wedding ring is a ring that we wear constantly and comes in contact with whatever we catch. How long the design will be damaged depends on the use you make of the wedding ring and how much you pay attention to it. There are also some textures in some wedding rings that are more vulnerable or more durable. We can restore your wedding ring to its original design and make it look like new, finish, as we call it. The cost and time of finishing again depends on the design of each wedding ring.
