Are jewelry and watches accompanied by a guarantee of authenticity?

Jewelry

All jewelry are accompanied by the guarantee of authenticity “Syrivelis” or the respective workshops.

Watches

We are official retailers of all our brands and every watch is accompanied from the official box and 2-year international warranty.

The warranty is two years for all watches and covers only the mechanism. This period is crucial to see if the mechanism is defective as it is impossible to 100% check it upon production.

Warranty does not cover:

– the life of the battery
– normal wear and tear and aging (e.g. scratched crystal; alteration of the colour and/or material of non metallic straps and chains, such as leather, textile, rubber; peeling of the plating)
– any damage on any part of the watch resulting from abnormal / abusive use, lack of care, negligence, accidents (knocks, dents, crushing, broken crystal, etc.)

General Precautions and Preventive Measures:

Temperature

Do not expose your watch to sudden temperature changes (exposure to sunlight followed by immersion in cold water) or extreme temperatures [over 60°C (140°F) or below 0°C (32°F)].

Magnetic fields

Do not expose your watch to intense magnetic fields such as loudspeakers, portable telephones, computers or refrigerators and other electromagnetic appliances.

Harmful products

Avoid direct contact with solvents, detergents, perfumes, cosmetic products etc., since they may damage the bracelet, the case or the gaskets.

Care and checks

Clean the case and bracelet regularly using a soft cloth to prevent any corrosion caused by perspiration. All water resistant watches can be cleaned with a toothbrush and soapy water, and then dried with a soft cloth. After being worn in the sea, the watch must be rinsed with warm fresh water and then dried completely

Are there any care tips for silver jewelry?

Everyday wear

Please make sure your jewellery does not come into contact with perfumes, soap, chemical products or cosmetics, as these could affect the colour and natural appearance of the materials. We recommend waiting until your perfume or cosmetics have dried completely before putting on your jewellery. Please also ensure your jewellery does not come into contact with hard materials such as marble or stone.

Cleaning

It is easy to clean a lot of our jewellery yourself simply using lukewarm water and soap. Once cleaned, dry the jewellery with a soft tissue to prevent new deposits or water marks from appearing.

Storage

Make sure that your pieces of jewellery are stored separately from each other. Some gems are extremely hard and strong and can scratch or damage each other if they come into direct contact. When you purchase a piece of jewellery, we will ship you a matching box case which you can use to store it and take it with you on your travels.

Swimming, bathing, and saunas

We recommend that you remove your jewellery before swimming or bathing, particularly in chlorinated water or saltwater. You should also avoid wearing your jewellery while sunbathing or in the sauna due to the high temperatures. Jewellery are sensitive and you may clean them by using only a gentle polishing cloth.

  • The wedding rings are sent upon request to the numbers and carats you want. An order requires a deposit of half the amount in advance.
  • Stones in the women’s wedding ring are optional. It can be ordered plain, like the men’s, or the zircons can be replaced with diamonds with the corresponding charge.
  • The processing and color of the wedding rings can also be changed. They can be ordered with, a glossy or matte finish, and a combination of white, pink and yellow gold, where the design allows it, or monochrome.

01. What are carats of gold?
The karat is a unit of measurement for the purity of gold and indicates the gold content of a piece of jewelry. In international terminology, karat gold is usually written with “K”, to distinguish it from carat which is the international unit of weight of precious and semi-precious stones. Pure gold is 24 karats. Karat gold directly characterizes jewelry, dividing it into categories. More specifically in the market there are mainly gold jewelry of nine, fourteen, eighteen and twenty two Karats.
Analytically:

8 karats: From the 24 pieces that make it up, the 8 parts by weight are made of genuine gold and the remaining 16 are made of pkramata (leges). In percentage terms, an 8 karat jewelry contains 33.3% gold and is inscribed inside the jewelry with the stamp 333.

9 karats: From the 24 pieces that make it up, the 9 parts by weight are made of genuine gold and the remaining 15 are made of pre-crates (leges). In percentage terms, a 9 carat jewelry contains 37.5% gold and is written inside the jewelry with the seal 375.

14 karats: From the 24 pieces that make it up, the 14 parts by weight are made of 24 karat gold while the remaining 10 are made of pre-crates (leges). In percentage terms, a 14 karat jewelry contains 58.33% gold and is written inside the jewelry with the stamp 585.

18 karats: Of the 24 pieces that make it up, the 18 parts of weight (not volume) are made of 24 karat gold while the remaining 6 are made of pre-crates (leges). In percentage terms, an 18-carat piece of jewelry, 75% of its total, is made of pure gold and is written inside the jewelry with the seal 750.

02. How many carats are wedding rings usually and why?
Wedding rings can be made in all carats of gold but are mostly made in 14 carats, as this alloy makes them valuable and durable. In general, the more gold a ring contains, the softer its alloy and therefore more vulnerable. The wedding ring is one of the jewels that we never part with and as a result it receives the most blows due to its daily use. Wedding rings at 9 carats are harder and more durable but contain less gold while wedding rings at 18 carats are much softer and wear out much faster. The final decision for the carats will be made by you with the help of the store that serves you.

03. How are the colors of gold created?
Pure gold is mixed with various precamps to create both the carats and the color we want. So, when we mix gold with white procram, we create white gold and when we mix it with pink procram, we create pink gold.

04. Is there a difference between white gold and platinum?
White gold is not the same as platinum. White gold is not a metal but is a gold alloy with a white color that comes from the mixture of gold with alloys. Platinum is a rare and very expensive precious metal that has a white color and is much harder. Platinum is very expensive as a raw material and difficult to process. That is why platinum jewelry usually has a minimal and timeless line.

05. Why do white rings turn yellow?
White gold rings need an extra treatment to make their color whiter and brighter. This process is called Rhodium plating. Over time and with the use of the ring this treatment goes away and the natural color of platinum begins to appear, which has a yellow tinge. In the wedding ring, which is a ring that we wear all the time and comes in contact with anything we catch, this wear can be done faster than in any other platinum ring. Of course, we can restore our ring or wedding ring to its original state, doing this extra processing (Rhodium plating) from the beginning.

06. What is the difference between a diamond and a zircon?
Diamond is the hardest material in nature, and at the same time the most expensive and the most popular. In their natural state they are translucent, transparent or even opaque and their colors vary. Colorless, gray, blue, red, yellow, green or black. The value of a diamond is shaped by its 4 characteristics, the 4 C, which are the parameters that describe a diamond quite accurately. The 4 C are: Carat, Clarity, Color and Cut.

Synthetic zircon is a synthetic stone that is used as a substitute for diamond and is very economical.

07. Can I make my wedding ring bigger or smaller?
Yes, they can grow or shrink, but in general the more complex the design of the wedding ring, the more difficult and time consuming the process will be. Also wear marks may be more visible in the final result, especially in the growth procedure. The cost and time is therefore determined by the numbers, but also by the design of each wedding ring.

08. Does my wedding ring design spoil? And what can I do?
Yes, over time your wedding ring design will deteriorate. As we have mentioned, the wedding ring is a ring that we wear constantly and comes in contact with whatever we catch. In how long the design will be damaged depends on the use of the wedding ring and how much you pay attention to it. There are also some textures in some wedding rings that are more vulnerable or more durable. We can restore your wedding ring to its original design and make it look like new, apply a finish, as we call it. The cost and time of the finishing procedure depends on the design of each wedding ring.

What is the waterproofing and tightness of watches?

WATER RESISTANCE TERMINOLOGY:

• 3 ATM – 3 BAR – 30 ΜETERS  : Rain, Accidental Contact, Washing Hands

• 5 ATM – 5 BAR – 50 ΜETERS : Rain, Accidental Contact, Washing Hands, Shower

• 10 ATM – 10 BAR – 100 ΜETERS : Rain, Accidental Contact, Washing Hands, Shower, Swimming

• 20/30 ATM – 20/30 BAR – 20/30 ΜETERS : Rain, Accidental Contact, Washing Hands, Shower, Swimming, Scuba Diving

*  ATTENTION: EVEN THE MOST RESISTANT WATCH MUST NOT GET IN CONTACT WITH WARM OR HOT WATER.

Water resistance of watches is rated based on laboratory pressure tests comparable to a swimmer or diver sitting still at that pressure level. However many water-based activities involve a lot of movement and other environmental changes. These exceptions to how the watch was rated may challenge or defeat the water protection features of a water resistant watch. The water resistance of a watch cannot permanently be guaranteed. It may be affected by ageing of gaskets or by accidental shock to the crown. Never activate the time-setting crown and/or the pushers while the watch is under water and make sure that the crown has been pushed/ screwed down tightly after every operation.

WATERPROOF SEALING

A waterproof watch, in order to maintain its tightness, must be re-sealed every time it is opened for battery replacement, repair, or at least every 2-3 years. Sealing involves changing the flange of the lid and / or the buttons of the chronograph and the crown – if necessary, applying liquid silicone, good sealing of the lid and a final test of the watch’s tightness in a special sealing machine that with changes in the atmospheric pressure checks that the watch remains waterproof to the hypothetical depth guaranteed by the manufacturer. If your watch is waterproof by construction and you want to replace the battery but do not want to seal, remember that the watch will be generally waterproof, but it is not 100% sure that it will withstand if it is submerged in water. Watches with screw cap and screw crown guarantee better tightness and less need for sealing, as long as of course we do not forget the crown unscrewed.
