Constantin pendant K9 yellow with white gems
Double-side Constantin pendant made of 9 karat yellow gold and white gems.
“Constantinato” was named after the byzantine emperor Constantine who was believed to have found, with his mother Helen, the Holy Cross. They are adorned with Constantine’s and Helen’s figures or with the initials ICXC NIKA, that mean Jesus Christ Conquers, and the cross. According to history, pregnant women in the Byzantine Empire used to wear these coins as amulets to protect their baby and their pregnancy. After birth, babies would wear these pendants to protect them form the “evil eye”. This is why this type of pendant makes a perfect baptismal gift for a newborn baby or anyone else.
